One of our favorite, do-it-yourself recipes for making peanut butter:

2 cups roasted and shelled "organic" peanuts
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1/2 teaspoon sea salt (optional)

Using a food processor, place the organic peanuts in the processor continuously for 2 to 3 minutes. The ground-up peanuts will form a ball which will slowly disappear. Continue to process until the desired consistency is obtained. Scrape the sides of the processor as needed with a spatula.

For crunchy peanut butter, stir in 1/2 cup chopped, organic-roasted peanuts after the processing is completed.

This recipe provides 1 cup of creamy organic peanut butter or 1-1/2 cups of crunchy organic peanut butter.

Place in a closed container and in refrigerator. When oil rises to the top, stir thoroughly before using.
